Trados 2026 can't connect with Groupshare 2020

Hi,

We had Trados 2024 and GroupShare 2020 installed and working together seamlessly. Last month, we acquired Trados 2026 and upgraded from Trados 2024.

Now, we are unable to connect to GroupShare—neither to the translation memories nor the projects. The server returns a connection error.
We have tested both with and without HTTPS, but we cannot access or even connect to the system.

We are, however, able to access it via the web interface.

This is a major issue for us. Is there a patch available, or are there instructions on how to get everything working normally again?

Trados Studio 2026 asking for security code when setting up Groupshare servers although MFA is not enabled in Groupshare

After installing Studio 2026, I cannot connect to Groupshare servers. Trados either throws a connection error or keeps asking for a security code although MFA is turned off on the server side of Groupshare.

The SSL settings are also entered correctly on Trados (443 with SSL box ticked) and the Groupshare server is accessible via a browser.

If I log in from Trados 2024, I have no issues. Then, the connection stays alive for a while and I can connect via Trados studio 2026 until the session expires.

Since I thought that the issue was caused via a clash between the two software versions, I did the following, but the problem persists with all Groupshare connections I've tried:

1. Removed Groupshare server settings and tried again - didn't help

- Created a new password on Groupshare and made sure that MFA was turned off. - didn't help.
- Turned MFA on the server side and the code is also not accepted by Trados.

- Disabled Firewalls and cleared DNS cache - didn't help

2. I removed Trados licences and uninstalled all versions of Trados studio + plugins from the disk.

- Cleared all trados/SDL folders from the Program Files, Program Files (x86), ProgramData and from Local/Roaming in the Users>AppData directory

- Ran CCleaner Reg cleaner and Bleachbit

- Restarted the PC

- Reinstalled Trados 2026

... but the problem persists.

So basically I can't use Trados 2026 because I mainly work on Groupshare projects.

What else can I do? As I mentioned earlier, everything runs fine on Trados 2024 SR1

Problem connecting to a GroupShare Termbase in Studio 2024

I have been attempting to connect to a client's GroupShare termbase in Studio 2024, but can't get past the entries for the address and port. When I enter the address, the default port changes from 80 to 443 and the secure connection checkbox is ticked. If I untick this, it changes back to 80. I need to use 85 for the port, but when I type this in the figures also appear above as part of the address. The error message then asks me to check the access details. Does anyone know how to resolve this issue? Thanks in advance for any suggestions.

Error installing SR2 on Groupshare 2020

We have just migrated to Trados 2026, and before doing so, we want to update our GroupShare 2021 (GS 2020 SR1 CU12) to the latest version, SR2 CU15. We read the instructions:

We had to restore the backup files. We have checked the antivirus, and it is not interfering with the installation.

Could somebody help? I do not have a support contract anymore, as I went over to Trados Team, but I need to use GroupShare for termbase issues, because Trados Team does not work the way I want, and with the new Studio 2026 the GS connection is very slow. This problem was solved with CU15, but I cannot upgrade it (it works on a VM that I can restore, if the upgrade does not work).

Groupshare 2020 SR1 online editor - unable to login back after logout

When I use Groupshare Online Editor and logout from the application, I am unable for about two hours to login back. The error is as follows. There is no activity in server logs - the call does not reach the server. It looks like some problems on client side. We tried to clear cache, use a new Edge profile, use another browser (Edge, Chrome, Firefox), but the error did not change. Do you have any idea, what's wrong? Thank you very much.

Couldn't access GroupShare in Trados Studio and on webpage

Hi, recently I'm having trouble connecting to GroupShare.

I tried on Trados Studio, and I got the error message asking me to check server connection and internet connection.

I checked on the Community and found some similar problems. So I tried the solutions as provided: go to the web https://logs08.sdlproducts.com.

This is what I got

I also tried another accounts (e.g. the sa and guest account), none of which worked. And I'm pretty sure the username and password are the right ones.

Can anyone help me with this please?

Five years ago we opened a support ticket regarding the Application service: Error: "Too many 'Viewer.CALs' allocated. Maximum is 0."

Case Number: 00585976. At that time support kind of dismissed the ticket by suggesting this is by design.

The issue being, that we are seeing errors related to Viewer CALs in the Application Service Logs. (system configuration / Log viewer..

The problem is that there are plenty of Multiterm Editor CAL's available and in fact, none for Multiterm Viewer CAL's - as Viewer CAL's were not purchased.

I would appreciate if product development can look into this and plan the improvement to veto such "spam" messages from the Log viewer dialog and to exclude it from filling the log database in the SQL server.

Secured connection between Groupshare and MS SQL Server?

We are planning to enforce secure connection for our SQL Server and apply certificate as mentioned in MS KB:

I have a problem connecting to termbases in GroupShare (I have 2 computers with the same licence, it works on one, but not on the other)

Im correctly logged on to the GroupShare server

I can see the GroupShare termbases - but I cant connect to them, and I get a message that the logon is invalid. Does anyone know how to solve that issue?

Is there any way to give just some people permission to edit a server-based TM within a group? I was able to do that with a file-based TM, but the Access Rights option is not available when I try to do it with a server-based TM.

Not able to log support case for Trados GroupShare

I am not able to log a support case for Trados GroupShare even though we have a Level 2 Support and Maintenance Agreement and I am a support user on our account.

When I am forwarded to the support form I am only offered one account to chose. At our organization, we have two RWS accounts, one with SMA and the other without. I can only select the latter and thus cannot log any support tickets.

If someone from RWS reads this, I request help in solving the above issue as well as support with upgrading our Trados GroupShare installation from 2020 SR1 to 2020 SR2.

Client field not publishing in Groupshare when using template

Hello,

We’ve noticed that when a project is created from Groupshare using a template, the Client field does not publish. However, when the project is published directly from Trados Studio (desktop version), the field publishes correctly.

I have created this template from a project with Trados studio desktop. I see the value in the project settings

This is what I see in the template. I don't see the guid for the client. Could this be why? or are we creating the template wrong?

Our groupshare version is 2020 SR2

Our trados studio desktop version is 2022 SR2 - 17.2.12.19268

It is possible to check it out using trados studio desktop (we are using 2022).

Our groupshare server version is UI: 15.2.0 GS: 15.2.0.1904 - GS 2020 SR2

GroupShare "Open in Studio" links do not work any more.

Having been an RWS vendor for many years now, I receive my translation and review projects via GroupShare notification mails. Until 2025, I used to click the "Open project in Studio" link, Trados Studio (2022) opened and the XLIFFS and all TMs, termbases, reference and instruction files were at hand.

However, at the end of last year I had to install a new computer and work with Trados Studio 2024 since then. Now the notification mails I receive still contain the link "Open project in Studio", but it does not work anymore. On clicking it, an empty browser tab opens containing nothing but the logs01 server address, but I am not able to open this address (e.g by using the Enter key).

I have the opportunity to download the projects if I open the server in an internet browser, but then I have the XLIFF files only without the accompanying instruction and reference files. The respective project manager always has to send me those files per mail or a download link. This is a very clumsy workaround, and it will be of no avail if I have to open and review a project in the evening when no project manager is available.

The problem persists with both browsers Edge and Google being set as default browsers. Until 2025, I worked with Edge, but I don't know if this is relevant at all.

Is it possible to make the "Open project in Studio" link work again? Do I (or does the project manager) have to activate, change or update a certain setting/option?

I even tried to rename the folder (to avoid bugged duplicate) and re-prepare them, still yield the same result.

Remove duplicate segments from Groupshare TM

Hi,

I need to delete duplicate segments from a Groupshare TM, which have been created during an update of the TM after a project, although I have used the "overwriting" option. This is another annoying behaviour of Studio, but not my question.

I have to deal with the result of this unusual behaviour, as I now have unwanted duplicates in the TM.

I am aware of the function to search for duplicates, the only issue is, that the duplicates are not listed, but only displayed one by one. So I delete one duplicate, go to the next one, delete it, etc. But the search starts always with the first segment. Which also can be annoying, when you do not want delete some of the duplicates, so you have to skip those until you get to one you want to delete.

Maybe this sounds familiar.

Is there another way to do that? There is an app in the Appstore, but that is only for local TMs and it deletes all duplicates. This is not the solution I want, I would want to add also some filter criteria for the duplicates.

Any idea out there?

TS2024 SR1 CU3 (and previous): when opening more than one GS project all projects do get the same name

I work for a customer with GroupShare. When I open more than one project from his server, ALL projects do get the same name. This is completely useless...

How shall one keep track which project is which? All the same... This is a huge bug for me.

Trados Studio 2022 - windows user issue

I am trying to connect from Trados Studio 2022 Professional (17.2.10.19084) to Groupshare server (Groupshare 2020 SR1 CU13) with Windows user so that this Windows user belongs to different Active Directory than Groupshare server. Services are running under service account that should be enabled for both ADs. But I get following error in Trados Studio:
