The certification exams for 2024 are available from several months already, but you will not find them on the RWS account, but on the RWS University Platform, as we change the method to provide the certifications.

Why version of Trados 2024 is still missing for the material to be used to take the Certification Exam for Trados Studio 2024. The only version available is still 2022!!!

Hello, I bought an Exam Certification and in the material to be used for getting some training, I can still see version 2022 instead of new version 2024. But more importantly When I clic on them (either Workbook, Sample Files or Presentation) I always get this message: The resource you are looking for has been removed, had its name changed, or is temporarily unavailable.

Can anyone explain this issue?

Documentation for MIF V2 file type missing or incorrect (Studio 2024)

The Studio 2024 documentation has one entry for "Configuring the MIF file type" (here), but there are two file types for MIF available. (Adobe FrameMaker) They differ at least in how special characters are handled:

V1 will always display dashes as dashes, V2 will display dashes as tags unless "Display special characters as text" is selected in "Common".

A user experienced this as confusing - quite understandably. (Here.)

I'm afraid this will NOT work. Templates do not have any file selection step. You could only use an existing project instead of a template, but in that case this would involve removing files from there and adding new files there, far too much hassle. So instead of adding the reference file to your project, put it on the cloud and attach a link to it to your mail with the package.

Simone Giordano from within GroupShare WebUI it seems we only support Translatable.
But once you have created your project you can add reference files after the project has been created.

Alternatively, if you are working through Studio then yes you can manage both Translatable and Reference files.

Can someone tell me where I can find a reference document that explains the meaning of the various elements of the SDLXLIFF format?

I need this to understand the content of an SDLXLIFF file and to be able to make minor changes to it.

My searches in Producthelp, KB and Community have so far been unsucessful. I am sure this information must be available (at least to developers).

We need to update a plugin, but the instructions we could access 2 weeks ago when doing the assessment have disappeared and return a 404 error:

Better to choose the version you are working with as the default links have already been updated to support the upgrade to Trados Studio 2024. So if you go here first for example:

You get all the versions and can choose what you need. So if I select the latest 2022 I would use this:

https://developers.rws.com/studio-api-docs/17.2/index.html

And then this:

https://developers.rws.com/studio-api-docs/17.2/articles/hints_tips/Update_Plugins/how_to_update_plugins_to_trados_studio_2022_sr2.html

But you should obviously select the version you are upgrading for.

Locked content is usually not processed in Trados. You need to change the setting in the file type for InDesign CS4-CC IDML in the section "Common" to "Extract content of hidden and locked layers" prior to adding the file to your translation project. Depending on the method used, do this in File -> Setup -> Project templates -> default project template for single file approach (the name of this template appears bold) or in the corresponding project template for your project. Then Trados will also extract hidden and locked content.

I did some research and found that some version of IE11 will be supported until 2029. I also believe that even the Studio 2024 XML preview will depend on IE11. (Correct?) It would be important to state that in the documentation. It's increasingly surprising to be restricted to XML 1, so whoever uses that preview will want to learn about it - and the Chatbots like Copilot will pick it up, too.

It would be important to explicitly state in the documentation which version of XSLT we can use to customize our preview.

Create Project Package is inactive in Studio 2022 Professional

Hi,

I have 2 licences, one Freelance Plus and one Professional because I teach CAT Tools. However, when I switch to the Professional one, I can't create a project package, because the button is greyed out.

I have never used the Professional account before and I have never created any package in the past.

Can you please help?
