Why version of Trados 2024 is still missing for the material to be used to take the Certification Exam for Trados Studio 2024. The only version available is still 2022!!!

Hello, I bought an Exam Certification and in the material to be used for getting some training, I can still see version 2022 instead of new version 2024. But more importantly When I clic on them (either Workbook, Sample Files or Presentation) I always get this message: The resource you are looking for has been removed, had its name changed, or is temporarily unavailable.

Can anyone explain this issue?

Documentation for MIF V2 file type missing or incorrect (Studio 2024)

The Studio 2024 documentation has one entry for "Configuring the MIF file type" (here), but there are two file types for MIF available. (Adobe FrameMaker) They differ at least in how special characters are handled:

V1 will always display dashes as dashes, V2 will display dashes as tags unless "Display special characters as text" is selected in "Common".

A user experienced this as confusing - quite understandably. (Here.)

Missing Instructions for Updating Plugins to Studio 2022

We need to update a plugin, but the instructions we could access 2 weeks ago when doing the assessment have disappeared and return a 404 error:

Create Project Package is inactive in Studio 2022 Professional

I have 2 licences, one Freelance Plus and one Professional because I teach CAT Tools. However, when I switch to the Professional one, I can't create a project package, because the button is greyed out.

I have never used the Professional account before and I have never created any package in the past.

Can you please help?

Finding the Trados Studio 2021 Installation Guide

Hi,

I'm looking for a copy of the Trados Studio 2021 Installation Guide pdf file.

There are links online to the following location:

https://docs.rws.com/binary/813470/807239/trados-studio-2021-sr2/trados-studio-installation-guide

but the actual content is the 2022 version.

I've also found the online help here:

https://docs.rws.com/813470/533203/trados-studio-2021-sr2/pdf-documentation-downloads

but it links to the above wrong version, and does not otherwise cover the install process.

As this is a corporate environment we need to do a bunch of paperwork before doing the install, and getting the right documentation logged is part of that.

If I can have assurances that the install process is exactly identical, Then I could justify using the 2022 version.

No package opens in the new purchased Studio 2022

Hi,

I purchased Trados Studio 2022 and no package opens. The only file type in the dropdown is sdlproj. I'm working with .sdlppx and with WS packages. I read that for WS packages, there's an add-on to download and install, which I did, and still no package can be opened.

Please advise.

I asked this question: "Add as New Translation" not working with SDL Cloud Translation Memories

And the provided answer is correct. But I cannot accept the suggested answer nor can I thank the person. By the way, thanks Alex Jude !

I see no "reply button" and, when I click on "Verify Answer" I get the following notification:

"You do not have the 'create reply' permission for '"Add as New Translation" not working with SDL Cloud Translation Memories' that is required to complete this action."

It's not a big issue, but I think it's a pity I cannot give a feedback.

P.S. I'm using the same account.

Trados Studio 2022 do not load installed Add-ins

I have an issue with the review tabs not showing installed plug-ins on some projects recently.

The strange things is that it is happening on recently added files to existing projects and NOT happening on other files in the same projects.

It happens twice on 2 projects. I currently loaded 7 files and 3 files do not show those 2 plug-ins I need for my QA

Any idea?

I cannot open packages/projects by doubleclicking in Explorer

Since today I can no longer open projects, packages and file by doubleclicking on them in Explorer.

When I doubleclidk on a file in Explorer, Trados opens a new session and gets me to the projects list. It does not go any further.

The version I use is 2021 SR2, 16.2.12.9338

Please help?

TRADOS quits unexpectedly / Setup did not complete

I have two problems:

When working in Trados (Studio 2021), Trados kicks me out of the program every now and then. As long as this is now and then, it is workable. However, this weekend I am experiencing this problem more and more, to such an extent that Trados quit immediately after I had opened it.

Most cases, there is no error message. Trados just takes very long to get on to the next segment and then quits. I only once had an error message:

I am working in a document that exists of lots of shortish documents, varying from 1 word to approx. 500 words. At first error 2 occurred at the same position in the same document all the time. I then opened the set of documents without this one document. For some time, everything seemed to be okay. But the problem recurred more and more often. I tried working in one document at the time. This worked for a while and then the problems began again. In the end Trados quit immediately after I had opened it.

As I still wanted to finish my assignment, I decided to remove and reinstall Trados. That’s when problem 2 started:

Due to this error I could not remove or repair Trados.

[error message: Setup did not complete. The error is: Setup has detected a different version of this product already installed. If you still wish to remove or repair that version, you must use that version's installer.]

I decided to install a trial version of Trados 2022. This worked fine, but immediately from the beginning I was kicked out of the package at the same point as described before. Again I opened fewer documents, which went fine for a while. Again the problem occurred more and more often. I have now managed all files but 5. For those files Trados quits almost immediately after I had opened them.

Can you please help me to get Trados working again?

Unable to access online help for Studio 2022

When trying to access the online help for Studio 2022, the system doesn't accept my credentials (username and password of my RWS ID), telling me that my credentials are incorrect or no authorization. Do I have to have other credential different from the RWS ID to access the online guide?

Problemas con la herramienta de búsqueda

Al trabajar sobre un archivo convertido y hacer clic en la herramienta de búsqueda la ventana de búsqueda se abre en segundo plano.
Al presionar Ctrl+F para activar la herramienta pasa lo mismo.

Si intento cerrar la ventana de búsqueda y volver a abrirla, una bvez más se abre en segundo plano y no me aparece en pantalla.

Ya reparé la instalación de todos los programas, pero no puedo resolverlo.

Solicito su ayuda para poder utilizar las herramientas de Buscar (Ctrl+F) y reemplazar (Ctrl +H)

Is there a video that shows how to use "Embedded content" feature to manage tags in an Excel file that needs to be translated? I am trying the Trados 2021 version and it is not handling any tags that are inside the Excel file that I need to translate. I am wondering if I am doing something wrong, but there are no clear instructions on how to use this feature that I could find anywhere. If you could let me know, I appreciate it. Thanks. - Tom
