TD missing in API created project package

Hello,

I tried to create a project package via the Worldserver REST API in SoapUI. The package was created, but it seems like the TD is not being added to the package. Everything else (including the TM) is there.

In the API documentation I found a value called "tdFilterId" (https://docs.rws.com/de-DE/worldserver-11.7-developer-documentation-860026/export-tasks-645015) Is it necessary to set this value in order to add the TD to the package?

If so, what would be the best way to find out which tdFilterId should be used?

Strange answer oncreating attachment through the REST API

So even though the status code is 200 (Success) and the response header says that the response should contain application/json (corresponds to the documentation), it is some binary content that cannot be processed.

Is this maybe a known bug in 11.8.4.38 and has been fixed in .46 ? Or how can we fix / find out the reason for this response?

REST API to get list of projects having particular Attribute value

There is a project level custom attribute. I am looking for a REST API end point where I can provide this custom attribute and its value in the request body and the response should list down all those projects having this attribute value.

We would like to periodically get World Server project information via API to feed our dashboards, however, we would only like to get information about the projects that have been recently modified. While there is a created date property in the project response/filters, we don't see one for last modified date, is this possible?

ImportKit request under the ExchangeWSExportImportManager wsdl always fails

We are developing a python script to make an Upload request to the SOAP API using:

when we call:

importKit2(token=WSTOKEN, attachedFile=file_contents)

if file_contents points to an xliff or zip on the server such as "c:\temp\tasks_250199_-_MyCompany-Test_-_testing_5_126627_ja_JP_xliff.zip" the function creates an upload file but that file is always blank and we get the error "java.lang.RuntimeException: Too many/few attachments sent [0] Please limit to 1".

Even when we call the function using a literal string of the contents of the xliff or a bytestream/octet encoded file the procedure give the too many/few error or a "com.idiominc.ws.WSRuntimeException: The filename, directory name, or volume label syntax is incorrect (covers java.io.IOException: The filename, directory name, or volume label syntax is incorrect)" error.

I need to know how the "Attached file" need to be referenced or the data type needed for it. It is clear that the system has access to the file but can't properly create the upload file for some reason.

Error Making Parallel Calls for TM Insert – StorageResourceBusyException

Description:
I have developed a custom servlet that updates or inserts entries into a Translation Memory (TM).

Issue:
When two concurrent requests were made to the servlet, both attempting to update the same TM, one of the requests failed with the following error, halting execution:

com.idiominc.ws.sql.ConnectionLease: non SQLException caught in storage


com.idiominc.ws.storage.StorageResourceBusyException: A required SQL resource was unavailable. Please, retry the operation later.

Below are the lines of code responsible for updating the TM:

The error specifically occurred at the insert operation (tmToUpdate.insert(...)).

Question:

Is there a recommended way to handle concurrent inserts into the same TM to avoid this error?
Does WorldServer provide any locking mechanisms or best practices for handling parallel TM updates?

Any insights or recommendations would be greatly appreciated.

Mismatch between API response and UI (re Tasks and Projects)

When listing project via the endpoint Get projects (<protocol>://<ws-host>:<ws-port>/ws-api/v2/projects?token=<sessionId>) we receive 9 records but in the UI we can see only 8 (see sample images below)

In Postman, there are some project IDs not displayed on the UI

When selecting an ID of any project in the UI (1069 for example) and try to get the tasks that are comprised in said project, we receive an empty body as response while on the UI we can clearly see that there are two active tasks

Could you help us understand this mismatch? Our goal is to get all tasks within a project for a same language direction via API.

/tasks/import and /tasks/export endpoints always stay in "STILL IN PROGRESS" status

Search Projects endpoint returns 500 error

How to match segments between custom automatic actions?

Hi! I am implementing some automatic actions using WorldServer SDK 11.7.3 and I need to create a mapping between segments and other entities to use across automatic actions.

I was thinking of using indices of the segments as their identifiers. Is their order guaranteed to be the same in different automatic actions? And is there another way to achieve this if not?

The code looks something like this:

I am developing an automation to assign a custom attribute label to translation memory of tasks in WorldServer, specifically when the import is initiated by a certain user from Trados. Although I've set up an AIS trigger to invoke this method post-write, it occasionally fails to execute.

My idea is to establish a listener that activates upon successful imports into WorldServer, which would then retrieve the user and task ID, enabling the call to my custom method.

Is there a method to attach such a listener to every import event in WorldServer without imposing significant overhead?

SOAP API TM lookups not returning correct results

Hi,

We are trying to do some TM look ups using the SOAP API and are getting some odd results.

For example when we are calling exactLookupByTarget_ with information for the TM, search text, source and target we will often get back a blank array "[ ]" for searches we can confirm in the UI that have 100% matches. Then when we perform the same search using the more general lookupByTarget_ we get results but with match scores that do not make much sense.

Is there a way to force these calls to behave closer to the UI search matching?

For example on a call searching for "Beschreibung" in the target German for the call "lookupByTarget_(token=Token, wSTm=TMName, searchText='Beschreibung', sourceLanguage='English (United States)', targetLanguage='German (Germany)')" along with a lot of other information we get:

Creating a project in Trados studio from the WorldServer (wsxz) package via the Trados studio automation API

Hi, we are using Trados studio and now we have a lot of packages from WorldServer. We use the Trados studio automation API to automate our work with Trados studio.

I would like to create a Trados studio project from a WorldServer .wsxz package and then create a return package for WorldServer via the Trados studio automation API.

Are there any plugins for Trados studio automation API, which can I use for it? If no. Are there any other options to automate this?

Download issue regarding Get files saved as attribute values API endpoint

Hi,

I am using the Get files saved as attribute values API endpoint, and I know I'm using it correctly, because most custom attribute files are getting downloaded successfully.

The problem is that some custom attribute files cannot be downloaded through the WorldServer API, while other custom attribute files download without any problems, and I couldn't find the reason behind it.

The ones that are not getting downloaded give the following error response:

I have a hunch it may be because of the German umlaut character or some other characters in the filename, but I did not manage to find out how to escape or represent those. The files download perfectly on the UI.

Is there a way to generate a link that the user can open via the API?

Hi,

We are trying to improve the integration between Worldserver and BeLazy. The integration is taking all tasks, also for the vendors, and downloading / uploading the package, giving the analysis, etc. in one go, directly importing this either into Plunet or XTRF or Protemos, or offering it via a single API call for integration. It is useful on the one hand for vendors of WS users, or for internal job tracking (e.g. integration with Trello, JIRA, etc.).

One of the convenience features is that we offer a URL that can be incorporated into the instructions, so that the translators know exactly which tasks they need to work on by directly navigating to Worldserver's tasks. The URL in question is like this:

We did not find a way so far to generate the token that appears here. The project is not a problem, we got that via the API, but is there a way to automatically generate such a token? Is this token unique to the user logged in, the task, the session, or anything else?

Any feedback is appreciated in case anyone hit a similar roadblock.

Update a Translation Memory Unit using the tmTranslation ID

Is there any POST endpoint on the REST API for worldserver to update a Translation Memory entry if you only have its ID?

Pagination on REST API

Hi everyone,

I am currently working on an automation task for a client. It utilizes WorldServer, and I currently have a problem getting all the information I need.

My goal is to get all scoped assets on a project
(See Documentation: docs.rws.com/.../get-scoped-assets)

The endpoints return the first 30 entries, but I have a total of 55. I tried guessing the pagination parameter like "page=1," but that does not work unfortunately. What is the correct way to paginate to get all resources?

Slow Response Time on Update Segments API

We have started to use the API for pulling a very specific WS projects from a specific application. We also have a use case to allow our translation author to auto copy the source translation for missing translation memory for all segments and mark the task complete. There number of segments could be 40 or 50 but only a small amount like 15 might need to be updated.

The WorldSever APIs are of a great help to search for project, narrowing down to tasks. We have options to update segments and markComplete task too. We would need advice on one part where the updateSegments seems slow. It takes over 40 seconds for updating 5 segments and the api[0] even times out if we try to update more.

Is this known or is there alternate option that can be used to source copy to target and mark complete.

Ribbon button launching a project group search

Dear community,

I was wondering if it would be possible to bind the result of a project group search launched from a custom ribbon button to the datagrid of the new UI.

The use case is the following: the search function of the API is much flexible than the one available via the UI, especially with regard to the filters. With the API, you can build wider and complexer filters than with the UI. Moreover, there is no need for each user to create a filter.

If this is possible, I would appreciate if the code for this could be shared.

Query 1 and 2 are critical : Can you please kindly help.?

1- I would like to apply standard search using API calls instead of the default on "Concordance". I am missing more info about how to perform this using the endpoint mentioned in the link: https://docs.rws.com/994354/646676/worldserver-11-8-developer-documentation/search-for-an-entry

2- I would like to retrieve data from "Created On" column in the API response for each entry . Please see screenshot. Could you please implement it in the response of this API: https://docs.rws.com/994354/646676/worldserver-11-8-developer-documentation/search-for-an-entry

Low priority - As we can achieve Query 3 via workaround.

3- I would like to be able to filter the results so that I have only certain scores. I can't find how to embed this in the search query too.

I tried: "text eq 'Order History' and source eq 'English' and target eq 'Hungarian' and tm eq '14836' and score eq 0.99" .. but it gave me all scores no matter what.

Open legacy dialog window from new UI

Dear community members,

Since it is not possible to adjust the total amount of a project cost from the new UI, I would like to add a button to the ribbon of the project list in the new UI. When clicked, the button should display the scope window (/ws-legacy/assignments_project_info_scope) which can be opened from the legacy UI.

I am successful in adding the button and opening a new window but I got a 403 error for the page.

The problem is not coming from my integration but from the new security rules implemented with version 11.7.x.

I would like to know how to proceed to open a legacy window from the new UI. Which information should be passed as URL parameter? Or is a POST request with a specific body? I presume that it should be possible since this is implemented for task issues: from the task list in the new UI, clicking the issue link opens a legacy window.

Task Completion SDK

I am currently looking at the customisation taskcompletionsdk (docs.rws.com/.../sample-ui-customizations) to adapt the complete step dialog. We are currently WS 11.7.3.

I have following questions relating to the provided sample:

Is it possible to limit the customisation to one task step (e.g. based on its name) or it can only be applied to all steps in the workflow?
The okButton seems to run the complete step by choosing the first transition. Is there a way of changing this or is this a default?
Is there a way to display all transitions as the standard dialog does or do we need to implement a custom code to reproduce what the application does out of the box?

Set Timeout for WSProjectGroup getProjectGroup(int id) when taking too long

While making a call to get a project group to WorldServer webservices the getProjectGroup times out when there are a lot of locales for the project group (more than 8 locales or so).

The application is in C# and like below we can get the authorization fine and the call works well for projects with fewer locales.

WSProjectGroup group = mgr.getProjectGroup(Convert.ToInt32(groupNumber)); //this times out for groups with many locales

Is there a way to force this to continue to process? mgr has a default mgr.timeout value of '-1' which I assume should let it work for as long as possible.

If there is anyway to help this process or even say return all the Project IDs from the Project Group number that would be helpful.
