Creating Termbase from Excel

As a translator or linguist, if you haven't used a translation tool before, you may have a glossary in Excel (flat file) format.

Using this type of file, is time-consuming and difficult to maintain.

When installing MultiTerm, you also have the option of installing MultiTerm Convert

This application allows you to convert Excel to a MultiTerm termbase.

Select the input file format

Navigate to where you have saved the Excel file and upload

MultiTerm Convert will notify you of invalid characters in the Excel file, which will need to be removed

Now define the Language and Descriptive Fields

Continue to define the fields and then convert.

When you open now the folder, you will see multiple files used for creating the Termbase.

Open MultiTerm and select Create Termbase

The Termbase Wizard will guide you through to completing the termbase.

You can now add the new termbase to the project
